Topic: Waiting for His Visitation
Author: Dr Joshua Obasa
Psalm 27:14 KJV
“Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
Reflections - Some basic blessings come to us without having to strive or tarry for them. Blessings in this regard could include provision of food and water, oxygen needed for living, shelter, raiments and the like. Philippians 4:19 says -
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
However, not all blessings flow so readily. There are blessings that go through processes and take time to mature. God will not deny us the good things that we desire but we must learn to wait for His perfect time. He makes everything beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Waiting is symbolic of submission. It also involves trust. Distractions and temptations will come as we wait. To combat this we need a strong courage or an unyielding resolve never to shift our focus away from God no matter how long He takes to get to us. As you wait on God for His visitation, keep praying, keep praising, and keep trusting. Shalom.
1. Lord, strengthen my heart against temptations and all forms of distractions.
2. Lord, teach me to wait for your visitation and do not tarry in coming.
3. Lord, glorify your name in my life and honour every promise you have made soonest.
