2 Kings 4:40 KJV
“So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.”
Reflections - There was famine in the land and the sons of the prophets depended on divine providence to secure their livelihood. One of the number went out of his way to get poisonous herbs which he shredded on the meal.
Few lessons we must learn. First, the enemy is not too far away. They are closer to us than we could ever imagine. Secondly, you do not need to do anything or have anything to warrant opposition. No matter your struggles, there are people who still want you dead. Thirdly, the enemy would not mind to destroy several lives in order to get at the prime target. Lastly, not everyone around you shares the same dreams with you. Those who do not share your dreams would not mind to destroy your dreams to entrench theirs. Our hearts cry should be that God should expose every evil person around us.
1. Lord, expose every evil person around me before he harms me.
2. Lord, frustrate every wicked plot and deliver me from the siege of destruction.
3. Lord, secure my blessings against all forms of contamination and demonic hijack.
