Topic: Comfort in Troubles
Author: Dr Joshua Obasa
Psalm 23:4 KJV
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Reflections - What promotes peace of mind is the assurance that God is with you. No matter how intense our prayers are, they can never ward off troubles and challenges all the time. Our prayers can never convert the devil to retract from doing evil. The devil has a three fold ministry that is so sure - to steal, to kill and to destroy. We are sure to be under the weather some of the time. Nature is not bound to be friendly to us all the time.
Day by day, we must have the sense of the presence of God. God’s presence becomes more certain when we surrender to Jesus Christ and build a strong relationship with Him. His promise is to be with us all through life. With Jesus, every situation will work out for our good and we are sure to find comfort in the most challenging circumstances. God’s presence will turn the furnace of affliction into an air conditioned hall of comfort.
1. Lord, deliver me from every evil and make me lord over adversities.
2. Lord, let me enjoy your presence daily and give me comfort in the midst of troubles.
3. Lord, give me new songs to sing and do not allow the enemies to rejoice over me.
