An attractive but poisonous blanket. Do you believe it?

Take one thread of lies, and two threads of truth. Weave them together into a blanket and you have made an attractive and dangerous trap. Some helpless person looking for warmth comes along looking for hope. They take the blanket and when fully immersed in it, they are poisoned.

Yes, this sounds sick doesn't it! But this is the world we live in. Be careful what you read and believe. We live in a high tech world with more information at our finger tips than we could ever have time to take in. Despite there being alot of truth and good blogs out there, we all know there is also alot of lies out there. We must always check with the scriptures as to what is right. A virus checker detects computer viruses and just because a blog is on a Christian website, it does not mean it has been "truth checked". Also, the bible challenges us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask for it in faith and it will be given to us. We need to exercise God given wisdom and discernment when it comes to knowing the difference between truth and lies. Some blogs out there can be full of lots of truth but subtly and cunningly, lies have been woven into them.

We also have the Holy Spirit who is with us to help us discern what is right. If you find the Holy Spirit quietly tugging at your heart saying something is a lie that we are reading, consider it a warning, check the scriptures and listen to the One true God who knows the truth. We should never passively believe something someone tells us, even if it sounds biblical, but always check it up with the truth of the bible - the Word of God.

May we all be discerning because there can be many wolves amongst us in sheep's clothing. In this day and age it is crucial for us all to be alert in discernment and keep close to the Lord, continuing to seek Him and His truth.

If we see someone taking a poisonous blanket, may we who know the truth expose to them the lies and bring them the hope that is solid on the word of God.
