Apostle Cheryl's Bio
Apostle Cheryl Jones attended church at an early age in Danville, Virginia. Upon coming to Stamford, Connecticut she attended Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she grew up and served in various capacities of leadership. In September 1975, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She began ministering immediately at convalescent homes, hospitals, local churches, on the streets of Connecticut and at the Danbury Men's Federal Prison. She received her call to full-time ministry in 1980. In 1981, she received her undergraduate degree in Evangelism from Bethel Bible Institute, and pursued further studies at Christian Life School of Theology, where she earned her Doctorate of Theology in 2005. She preached her initial sermon in 1981 in St. Luke Unison Free Will Baptist Church, and was ordained in September 1984 at The Unison Free Will Baptist Conference in New Haven, Connecticut.
Apostle Cheryl Jones accepted the mantle as Pastor and was ordained Pastor in 1990 by the Honorable Bishop Roy E. Brown of Pilgrim Assemblies International, Brooklyn, New York. She began to fearlessly impart the vision, bringing consistency, responsibility, and accountability to the membership of Victory Temple Church, now located in Bridgeport Connecticut.
She was confirmed in 1997 as an Apostle to the Lords’ Church at the Holy City Covenant Churches International in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Jones has taught and trained 5-fold ministry teams. She is active in the prison ministry at Taconic and Bedford Hills Correctional Facilities, where she brings forth the Word of God. She helps to empower the lives of men and women who are incarcerated by embracing them with the love of Christ and giving them hope that even behind bars, one can "be free in Jesus and dare to dream." Dr. Jones is a dynamic teacher, pastor, prophet, conference speaker, exhorter, and an effective leader who gives her all. She knows that the call upon her life is appointed and anointed by God. In her own words Dr. Jones expresses her heart for God's people. "My heart’s desire is that people see the urgency of being saved! It is of supreme importance that we walk in obedience, teach the truth and rely on His Word, to believe and know what God has said is the truth and there is nothing missing and nothing broken”. One of the most important aspects of her ministry is the unity of the family.
